Data privacy

1. Information on the collection of personal data

We are pleased that you are visiting our website and thank you for your interest. In the following, we will inform you about how we handle your personal data when you use our website. Personal data is all data with which you can be personally identified.

This website uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal data and other confidential content (e.g. orders or enquiries to the controller). You can recognise an encrypted connection by the character string ‘https://’ and the lock symbol in your browser line.

2. Data collection when visiting our website

If you only use our website for informational purposes, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect the data that your browser transmits to our server (so-called ‘server log files’). When you visit our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display the website to you:

  • Our visited website
  • Date and time at the time of access
  • Amount of data sent in bytes
  • Source/reference from which you accessed the page
  • Browser used
  • Operating system used
  • IP address used (if applicable: in anonymised form)

The data is not passed on or utilised in any other way. However, we reserve the right to subsequently check the server log files if there are concrete indications of unlawful use.

3. Hosting

AWS-CloudFront (Amazon)

On our website we use the Content Delivery Network (‘CDN’) ‘AWS CloudFront’ of the service provider ‘Amazon’ (Amazon EU S.a. r.l., 38 avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg).

A content delivery network is an online service that is used to deliver large media files (such as graphics, page content or scripts) through a network of regionally distributed servers connected via the Internet. The use of Amazon's Content Delivery Network helps us to optimise the loading speed of our website.

You can find more information in the Privacy policy of Amazon.

4. Cookies

In order to make your visit to our website more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages. These are small text files that are stored on your end device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted after the end of the browser session, i.e. after you close your browser (so-called session cookies).

Other cookies remain on your end device and enable us or our partner companies (third-party cookies) to recognise your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies). If cookies are set, they collect and process certain user information such as browser and location data and IP address values to an individual extent. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period, which may vary depending on the cookie.

In some cases, cookies are used to simplify the ordering process by saving settings (e.g. remembering the contents of a virtual shopping basket for a later visit to the website).

We may work with advertising partners who help us to make our website more interesting for you. For this purpose, cookies from partner companies are also stored on your hard drive when you visit our website (third-party cookies). If we work together with the aforementioned advertising partners, you will be informed individually and separately about the use of such cookies and the scope of the information collected in each case within the following paragraphs.

Please note that you can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and can decide individually whether to accept them or to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general. Personal data is collected and processed if you provide it to us for the fulfilment of a contract or when opening a customer account. Which data is collected can be seen from the respective input forms.

You can delete your customer account at any time by sending a message to our address. We store and use the data you provide to fulfil the contract. 8. Data processing for order processing

8.1

The personal data collected by us will be passed on to the transport company commissioned with the delivery as part of the contract processing, insofar as this is necessary for the delivery of the goods. We will pass on your payment data to the commissioned credit institution as part of payment processing, insofar as this is necessary for payment processing. If payment service providers are used, we will provide explicit information about this below.

8.2 Transfer of personal data to shipping service providers

Post CH & notime

If delivery of goods takes place by the transport service provider Post CH (Schweizerische PostAG, Switzerland, Wankdorfallee 4, 3030 Bern) or by notime (notime AG, Pfingstweidstrasse 60b, 80 05 Zurich) we will forward your e-mail address to Post CH or notime before the goods are delivered for the purpose of coordinating a delivery date or for a delivery notification, provided that you have given your express consent during the ordering process.

Otherwise, for the purpose of delivery, we only provide the name of the recipient and the delivery address to Post CH or notime. The transfer only takes place if it is necessary for the delivery of goods. In this case, prior coordination of the delivery date with Post CH or notime or transmission of status information for shipment delivery is not possible.

The consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future vis-à-vis the controller named above or vis-à-vis the transport service provider Post CH or notime.

8.3 Transfer of personal data to payment service providers

Your payment data will be transmitted to the relevant payment service provider depending on the payment method you have selected. The payment service provider is responsible for your payment data.

You can obtain information in particular about the responsible body of the respective payment service provider, the contact details of the data protection officers of the payment service providers and the categories of personal data processed by the payment service providers at the following addresses:

Credit check

A credit check is carried out by Intrum AG as part of the upcoming purchase transaction. The purpose of this credit check is to avoid credit defaults and fraud and thus to prevent over-indebtedness or unauthorised claims. The personal data required for this purpose, such as name, address, date of birth, contact details (e-mail, telephone number) are transmitted to Intrum AG. In addition, data from the Internet protocol (IP address, proxy server used, etc.) is read out using a script and transmitted to Intrum AG. Information on which personal data Intrum AG has stored can be requested from Intrum under Request for information.

9. Contact for the valuation reminder

Evaluation reminder by Trusted Shops

If you have given us your express consent to do so during or after your order, we will transmit your e-mail address to the evaluation platform Trusted Shops GmbH, Subbelrather Str. 15c, 50823 Cologne, so that they can send you an evaluation reminder by e-mail.

You can revoke your consent at any time by sending a message to us or to the rating platform.

10. Use of social media: Videos

Use of YouTube videos

This website uses the YouTube embedding function to display and play videos from the provider ‘YouTube’, which belongs to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (‘Google’).

The extended data protection mode is used here, which, according to the provider, only initiates the storage of user information when the video(s) is/are played. If the playback of embedded YouTube videos is started, the provider ‘YouTube’ uses cookies to collect information about user behaviour. According to information from ‘YouTube’, these are used, among other things, to record video statistics, improve user-friendliness and prevent abusive behaviour.

If you are logged in to Google, your data will be assigned directly to your account when you click on a video. If you do not wish your data to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and analyses them. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact YouTube to exercise this right. When using YouTube, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA.

Irrespective of playback of the embedded videos, a connection to the Google network is established each time this website is accessed, which may trigger further data processing operations without our influence.

You can find further information on data protection at ‘YouTube’ in the Privacy policy of the provider.

11. Online marketing

Use of Google Ads conversion tracking

This website uses the online advertising programme ‘Google Ads’ and, as part of Google Ads, the conversion tracking of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (‘Google’). We use Google Ads to draw attention to our attractive offers with the help of advertising material (so-called Google Adwords) on external websites. We can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are in relation to the advertising campaign data. We are interested in showing you adverts that are of interest to you, making our website more interesting for you and achieving a fair calculation of advertising costs.

The cookie for conversion tracking is set when a user clicks on an Ads advert placed by Google. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer system. These cookies generally lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognise that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page.

Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of Google Ads customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for Google Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers are told the total number of users who clicked on their advert and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, you will not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users.

If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can block this use by deactivating the Google Conversion Tracking cookie via your Internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. As part of the use of Google Ads, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA.
You can find more information in Google's privacy policy.

You can permanently disable cookies for ad preferences by preventing them by setting your browser software accordingly or by downloading and installing the available browser plug-in. Please note that you may not be able to use certain functions of this website, or only to a limited extent, if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

12. Web analysis services

Google (Universal) Analytics

This website uses Google (Universal) Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (‘Google’). Google (Universal) Analytics uses ‘cookies’, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including the shortened IP address) is usually transmitted to a Google server and stored there; it may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA.

This website uses Google (Universal) Analytics exclusively with the extension ‘_anonymizeIp()’, which ensures anonymisation of the IP address by shortening it and excludes direct personal references. This extension means that your IP address will be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google LLC server in the USA and shortened there. In these exceptional cases, this processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in the statistical analysis of user behaviour for optimisation and marketing purposes.

Google will use this information on our behalf to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google (Universal) Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the following browser plug-in.

As an alternative to the browser plugin or within browsers on mobile devices, please click on  <a onclick="alert('Google Analytics wurde deaktiviert');"href="javascript:gaOptout()">diesen Link</a>, to set an opt-out cookie that will prevent Google Analytics from collecting data on this website in the future (this opt-out cookie only works in this browser and only for this domain). If you delete your cookies in this browser, you must  <a onclick="alert('Google Analytics wurde deaktiviert');"href="javascript:gaOptout()">diesen Link</a> click again.

For further information visit the Privacy policy of Google (Universal) Analytics.

13. Tools and miscellaneous

13.1 ChannelPilot

This website uses ChannelPilot, an online marketing tool from Channel Pilot Solutions GmbH. ChannelPilot uses so-called ‘cookies’, text files that are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website, such as browser type/version, referrer URL (the previously visited page), host name of the accessing computer (IP address), time of the server request, is usually transmitted to a ChannelPilot server in Germany and stored there.

The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of ChannelPilot is not merged with other ChannelPilot data. In addition, the IP address is only temporarily stored by ChannelPilot for a short period of time (usually a maximum of 24 hours) and then made unrecognisable. Intermediate storage takes place without exception to recognise possible click fraud (bot detection).

On behalf of the operator of this website, ChannelPilot will use this information to evaluate the performance of connected online marketing channels such as idealo.de or Google Shopping. You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent.

You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to ChannelPilot and the processing of this data by ChannelPilot by using the available opt-out option. An opt-out cookie will be set to prevent the future collection of your data when you visit this website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in the last browser used. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you must set the opt-out cookie again.

You can find more information in ChannelPilot's privacy policy.

13.2 Google reCAPTCHA

On this website, we also use the reCAPTCHA function of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (‘Google’). This function is primarily used to differentiate whether an entry is made by a natural person or abusively by machine and automated processing. The service includes sending the IP address and any other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. As part of the use of Google reCAPTCHA, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA.

You can find more information about Google reCAPTCHA in the Privacy policy of Google

13.3 Google Maps

We use Google Maps (API) from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (‘Google’) on our website. Google Maps is a web service for displaying interactive (land) maps to visualise geographical information. Using this service will show you our location and make it easier for you to find us.

Information about your use of our website (such as your IP address) is transmitted to Google servers and stored there as soon as you access the subpages in which the Google Maps map is integrated; this may also involve transmission to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA. This occurs regardless of whether Google provides a user account through which you are logged in or whether no user account exists. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be assigned directly to your account. If you do not wish your data to be associated with your Google profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and analyses them. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact Google to exercise this right.

If you do not agree to the future transmission of your data to Google in connection with the use of Google Maps, you also have the option of completely deactivating the Google Maps web service by switching off the JavaScript application in your browser. Google Maps and thus also the map display on this website can then not be used.

You can find more information on this in the Google terms of use and in the Google Maps terms of use. You can find detailed information in connection with the use of Google Maps in Google's privacy policy.

13.4 Trusted Shops Trustbadge

The Trusted Shops Trustbadge is integrated on this website to display our Trusted Shops seal of approval and to offer Trusted Shops membership to buyers after placing an order.

The Trustbadge and the services advertised with it are an offer from Trusted Shops GmbH, Subbelrather Str. 15C, 50823 Cologne.

When the Trustbadge is called up, the web server automatically saves a so-called server log file, which contains, for example, your IP address, the date and time of the call, the amount of data transferred and the requesting provider (access data) and documents the call. This access data is not analysed and is automatically overwritten no later than seven days after the end of your visit to the site.

Further personal data is only transferred to Trusted Shops if you decide to use Trusted Shops products after completing an order or if you have already registered to use them. In this case, the contractual agreement concluded between you and Trusted Shops applies.

13.5 Applications for job advertisements by e-mail

We advertise current vacancies on our website in a separate section, for which interested parties can apply by e-mail to the contact address provided.

In order to be included in the application process, applicants must provide us with all the personal data required for a well-founded and informed assessment and selection together with their application by e-mail.

The required information includes general personal information (name, address, telephone or electronic contact details) as well as performance-specific proof of the qualifications required for a position. In addition, health-related information may be required, which must be given special consideration under labour and social law in the interests of the applicant's social protection.

The components that an application must contain in order to be considered in individual cases and the form in which these components are to be sent by e-mail can be found in the respective job advertisement.

After receipt of the application sent using the email contact address provided, the applicant data will be stored by us and analysed exclusively for the purpose of processing the application. For any queries arising in the course of processing, we may choose to use either the e-mail address provided by the applicant with their application or a telephone number provided.

The legal basis for this processing is the completion of the application process as an initiation of an employment contract.

Insofar as special categories of personal data (e.g. health data such as information on severe disability) are requested from applicants as part of the application process, the processing is carried out so that we can exercise the rights arising from labour law and social security and social protection law and fulfil our obligations in this regard.

Cumulatively or alternatively, the special categories of data may also be processed for the purposes of preventive healthcare or occupational medicine, for the assessment of the applicant's ability to work, for medical diagnostics, healthcare or treatment in the health or social sector or for the administration of systems and services in the health or social sector.

If the applicant is not selected in the course of the evaluation described above, or if an applicant withdraws their application prematurely, their data transmitted by email and all electronic correspondence, including the original application email, will be deleted after six months at the latest following a corresponding notification. This period is calculated on the basis of our legitimate interest in being able to answer any follow-up questions regarding the application and, if necessary, to fulfil our obligations to provide evidence under the regulations on equal treatment of applicants.

In the event of a successful application, the data provided will continue to be processed for the purposes of implementing the employment relationship.

13.6 - Elasticsearch

This website uses the ‘Elasticsearch’ service from ELASTIC, 800 West El Camino Real, Suite 350, Mountain View, California 94040, USA, to provide a search function for articles via the search field and for navigation and filters.

For this purpose, Elasticsearch collects and stores certain user information (such as the user or session ID) in anonymised form.

If personal data is also processed in this context, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing an error-tolerant search for articles and making it easier to find our products in the shop and thus in optimising the marketing of our offer.

Further information can be found in Elasticsearch's privacy policy.

14. Right of the person concerned

The Swiss Data Protection Act grants you the right to know free of charge whether and what personal data we store about you. You also have the right to have incorrect data corrected and deleted. This is subject to statutory retention obligations (see in particular Art. 957 and 962 of the Swiss Code of Obligations).

Requests for information must be sent to us in writing. In connection with requests for information or deletion, we reserve the right to request appropriate proof of identity.
